Travel Companies for Solo Travellers are becoming increasingly popular for good reason.
You can enjoy conversations with new people, go at your own pace and where you want, something you may find hard to do in company.
It may encourage you to have the break you want without the worry of whether your other half will or won’t enjoy it.
There are a number of travel companies who specialise in solo travel and here are a few suggestions:
Offer a range of interesting trips, 10 days in Vietnam (from £812), 15 days Classic Rajastan (from £952), 7 Days Inca Trail Express (from £934), 9 days Premium Highlights of Japan (from £3,430), 13 Days Morrocco Uncovered (from £1,035), Classic Sri Lanka (from £1,200), Okavango Experience – Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa (from £1,132) and Complete Galapagos (from £5,670).
Their mission is to create positive change through the joy of travel. They give you a guide as to whether a particular trip will suit you and reviews on TourRadar give them a high rating.
Offer a wide variety of destinations and organised trips for solo travellers. Depending on your pocket, they offer Geluxe trips ranging from £2,399-£10k+. The focus of these trips is accommodation they say is chosen to be unforgettable and interaction with locals. There are many trips less than £1k.
Reviews on TourRadar are consistently excellent.
This could be a good option if you’ve never travelled solo or fancy a short UK break. On their “Solos Exclusive” they take over entire properties so you get to know fellow travellers. That may suit some but a trip too far others. As a guide 10 nights in Antigua with half board but excluding flights is £2,689.
Reviews on TourRadar are very positive, although not as many as you would expect.
If you are looking for an active holiday, you should find it with this travel company. Some of their most popular trips are trekking to Everest Base Camp, walking the Amalfi Coast, visiting the Amazon, the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu and they evaluate whether it is suitable for you.
Reviews are mixed, highly rated on Trustindex, less so on Trustpilot.
These trips are rather more hardcore but worth a look. They offer trips such as Guatemala 5 Volcano Challenge, Hike, Kayak, Wild camp in Norway (2/3 nights), Canyons to Coast Adventure in Northern Spain. Prices range from £500m -£1,200 excluding flights. Emphasis is very much on solo travel.
They have excellent reviews on Trustpilot and elsewhere.
If you do fancy any of their trips just be realistic about the physical challenge and be prepared to train for the activity.
