Discover a sport suited to seniors. It’s never too late if you are physically able and not as difficult as you might think.
Playing a sport competitively is good for mind and body and here are some suggestions.
Golf
Try out at your local golf range, have a few lessons and then if you take to it, there are various options, play a Par 3 course or the full 18 on a play and pay course. In time, you may join a local club and it’s a great way to be social. It’s also a good sport to play with your other half
Tennis/Padel Tennis/Badminton
Your local leisure centre is quite likely to have a Badminton indoor court with sessions where you can try it out.
Try out Tennis at one of your local council courts and if you take to it, then you can always join a local tennis club.

Padel Tennis is the world’s fastest growing sport. It’s a combination of tennis and squash but not so energetic as you play doubles and the court is smaller than a tennis court.
Croquet/Lawn & Indoor Bowling
If you fancy something not quite so energetic, then these might be activities for you. If you fancy a game of skill, strategy and tactics then try croquet The Croquet Association will tell where you can play.

Walking Football
Walking Football is the perfect fit for everyone who wants to play football for longer, make new friends, get out of the house and stay active.
With no running, jogging or heading – and tackling with reduced physical contact – Walking Football is a fun and safe way for players to enjoy football and socialise together.
