Tech help made easy Dealing with technology can be a frustrating experience. This section is designed to make things easier.

Technology moves at such a pace that it’s hard to keep track of what’s available. The internet can be a godsend or a monster when things go wrong, or we fall for a scam. If you’re having issues with anything internet- or mobile related, start off by Googling it, as it’s more than likely that someone else will have had the same problem. If they have, and it solves your problem then it’s a godsend. If it doesn’t provide the answer, then you can use free tech help, https://abilitynet.org.uk/

If you struggle to cope with technology, ask a relative or friend to take you through the basics and then join a class. Age UK offer training courses or ask at your local library or community college.

If you feel you have a justifiable complaint against your internet provider, and this applies to anything, you may fail to get satisfaction from the normal complaints channel and that may be because they are not empowered to provide anything but standard responses. If that is the case, it’s worth emailing the CEO (google for an email address such as CEO BT) and you may be surprised how quickly you get a response from someone in his/her office who is able to provide resolution.
