Products that would be fun to have.

Fun products for you or someone else.

These may not change your life and could be considered frivolous but so what.

Big Buddy Feeder

It may seem a little spooky as suddenly you get a notification “You have had visitors” “Not that I’m aware of” you may say to yourself.

Then you see a picture of these mysterious visitors – a blackbird, a blue tit,  a robin and they’ve been visiting your bird feeder.

Bird Buddy has a built in camera, runs off a battery, although you can add solar power. Unfortunately it doesn’t discriminate so you may get a load of photographs of squirrels. Big Buddy (this is shipped from the States and considered to be the best). Alternatively there’s a range to choose from at Amazon.

Y-Brush Toothbrush

When it’s supposed to be good for you, we all promise to do what we are told.

That’s especially true when it’s the dentist telling us. How many times have we sat in the chair and thought why haven’t I done what I was told last time and avoided an admonishment as if I was a child?

Most common is the instruction to brush our teeth for two minutes or even better each tooth for 10 seconds. The ability to multitask – count and brush my teeth is often beyond me.

Now I have the solution – the Y-Brush Toothbrush. Let’s brush all my teeth in one go.

One big brush curves over your teeth like a bristly gum shield to do the whole top row, then the whole bottom row, in one go.

It doesn’t claim to be any more effective than an electric toothbrush. It just does it in 20 seconds instead of two minutes.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Sur Mesure lipstick maker

I’ll have to be guided by favourable customer reviews rather than personal experience because this is a choose-your-own lipstick machine.

Useful if you want something to match what you are wearing. If you constantly change your particular shade then this could be for you. Your other half can play his part because, via the app, he points the phone camera at you and on screen it shows versions of you with different lipstick colours. yslbeauty.co.uk £260.

Vieunite Textura screen

This takes digital photo frames to a different level. You can load artworks from well known artists or your own creations and display on a 27” canvas.

The advanced texture-accurate display technology perfectly replicates artistic finishes such as brush strokes and preserves them for a lifelike aesthetic. Schedule times for the digital canvas to turn on and off automatically, only using power when needed and improving the energy efficiency.

DJI FPV Drone

Yes it’s a boys toy but then that’s what we were once upon a time.

The FPV in the DJI drone’s name stands for first-person view, and it is key.

From the virtual-reality goggles, with their swivelling, forward-facing camera, you have an unimpeded cockpit view that allows you to imagine you are the fighter pilot the child version of you always assumed he would become.

Controls are stable and intuitive and it has a “return to home” function.

Don’t be too adventurous where you send it because battery life is sub-30 minutes. Store.dj.com £959

H20 Audio Sonar Pro

The clue is in the title. Yes these are underwater headphones. T

They may look a bit weird but they attach to your goggles and store music.

They are bone conducting headphones and the perfect answer if you want to listen whilst swimming. Reasonably priced as well.

H2O Audio.com £130

Cowboy ebike

If you’re tired of a stream of bicycles flying past you as if they own the cycle lane. Then this might be the answer.

What’s smart about this ebike is it monitors how much effort you are putting into cycling and automatically increases its assistance accordingly, so none of the tediousness of adjusting manually the output of the electric motor.

There’s an app which tells you post ride what distance you covered, whether you’ve met fitness goals and how many calories you’ve burnt.

You can book a test drive and they’ll come to you.

Glowstone Smart Mug 2

Here’s a product that really does what you want it to – keep your coffee or tea at the right temperature.

Is it yet something else that needs charging ? Well it does but wirelessly and what is clever is no switch, no charging cable and no need to turn it on or off.

It detects that you are drinking coffee, keeps the coffee at the right temperature, switches off when the coffee is gone and is nice to look at.
