The 240 Mile Dog.

Discover how a dog came home after 27 days of searching.

The following story was submitted by David, so many thanks for sharing.

In 2019, Cooper, a golden retriever, was adopted by a new family in Northern Ireland. However, after just a few days in his new home, Cooper ran away— and no one knew where he was.

His new owners searched everywhere, putting up missing dog posters, but weeks passed with no sign of Cooper.

27 days later and Cooper was found 240 miles away, sitting outside the front door of his old home—where his previous family had lived before moving away.

No one knows exactly how he made the journey, but experts believe he used his powerful sense of smell to track familiar scents for weeks, determined to find his way back.

His previous family, moved by his dedication, decided to take him back, realising they couldn’t be apart from him. Cooper’s story became an internet sensation proving how extraordinary dogs can be.
